Altars provide a tangible reminder of our connection to spirit, to essence, and to a life larger than ourselves. They stand as windows to remember and touch what is Real. Ritual, altars’ close cousin, is born of our need to celebrate, honor, or mark a moment, a season or a lifetime. Together, they activate all of our senses and call for full participation in the “more” of our existence. My hope is that this talk will inspire all participants to create altars and rituals in their lives. How poor we would be without them!
