Sharing
by Judy Harrison It was time to journey again. An experience I
looked forward to during our time together.
Grandfather and wolf joined our circle. Our charge
was to ponder wolf medicine. No small task knowing
all he brings.
I entered the earth next to a large rock that was
part of the Wesak Valley landscape at Spirit Fire.
The air tingled with the charge left from the
Goodwill distribution during the Gemini full moon.
The landscape below was filled with roots of every
size, the roots from grandmother tree and that of
small grasses and flowers. I understood that here
too were the etheric roots of our being, anchored
deep within the mother.
I journeyed to the core. The wall was the uterus of
the Mother herself. I was in her womb. It was here
that I found wolf impressed within the wall like a
cave dweller’s picture of old. He took me deep to
the center, to the point of clear cold light.
Through this opening we passed to embark on a
journey of love.
Out in the cosmos all was being held in place
through Love’s power, stars and planets alike. So
breathtaking was this view! But our journey was to
take us back to the earth. As it came into view I
observed the flowers that were rooted in the mother,
a testimony to her love. Birds were singing,
families interacting again all sustained by mother
love. But then I passed by anger and hate and saw
the devastation of war. I understood intuitively
that they were cut off from their roots. Clearly
healing could only happen once they found their
roots again, helping them to regain the love that
sustains and nourishes.
The drum called. It was time to go back to the
seed of light deep within the mother. I ended this
journey with the teaching that Creation was Will in
Action and since Will in Action is Love, simply put
creation and all its many parts are love. This was
powerful medicine.

Surrender, A Conscious Life
Darkness, Light and Return Accepting Dharma and Choosing to Live in One Moment or the Other Written by Susan Richardson In One Moment my path is tight,
a narrow passage. It is a burning ground where fear and sorrow mingle. I walk this way alone. In the Other Moment, serenity is mine. A door opens. Walking through it, I arrive at the Present. In this Now Moment, I am in-spired by Light and find what simply IS. And, here, all is well I see the Real and my wide, open heart knows the Oneness of ALL. Finding solace and strength, I reach out to the world. and there, discover Joy. |

The Relationship of Self to self: A Wiser, Kinder
View
by Tamara Daly The practice of mindfulness defuses our
negativity, aggression, and turbulent emotions,
which may have been gathering power over many
lifetimes. Rather than suppressing emotions or
indulging in them, here it is important to view
them-your thoughts and whatever arises-with an
acceptance and a generosity that are as open and
spacious as possible. Tibetan masters say
that this wise generosity has the flavor of
boundless space, so warm and cozy that you feel
enveloped and protected by it, as if by a blanket of
sunlight. - Sogyal Rinpoche
In the spirit of this view, the question is asked,
“How should we most wisely relate to ego?” or “What
is the wisest view on ego?”
In the Tibetan tradition there are three major yanas
or vehicles, each building upon the other, the
Hinayana, Mahayana and Vajrayana. There are views or
styles of cognition essential to each.
The Hinayana is the dualistic level. One trains in a
process of purification, making distinctions on
right thought, speech, action, viewing the world as
samsara (a realm of suffering) hoping to achieve
nirvana and cessation of the wheel of cyclic
existence. It is based on the moral developmental
level of good vs. evil, and the desire and
aspiration to transcend samsara. It distinctly
separates spirit and matter.
The Mahayana vehicle sees shades of gray. It is
tantric or transformational, and sees form as fuel
for the fires of spiritual realization. Then finally
within the Vajrayana the fruit of the shunyata or
emptiness trainings of the Mahayana are seen in the
non-dual traditions of Mahamudra and Dzogchen which
have realized the View based on the wisdom of the
prajnaparamita; that form is no other than emptiness.
So then there are many views towards ego and how to
deal with it based on the level upon which one is
operating, or the stage on their Path. The dualistic
approach is “kill the ego”, the tantric way is to
transform it, and the non-dual way is seeing the ego
itself as a perfect expression of Buddha nature as
it is. But the last understanding is not there until
it’s there. Until you can see the form as emptiness
you just see form. So that perspective doesn't help;
you can't see that perfection until you can see it!
At first glance the words of the heart sutra may
seem transcendence oriented, and thus dualistic;
“gate- gate-paragate- parasumgate-
bodhisvaha”, but what they are asking us to
transcend is the thought form of transcendence
itself. Transcending the transcendence is the here,
the now. Perfection IS. We come full circle on the
Path, back to home, our body, our world.
Thought forms build the bridges. They are platforms
upon which we grow consciousness and are necessary.
One needs new forms to grow into however as the
older ones no longer fit or when they confine and
restrict growth. We need more refined views toward
everything, but especially toward our ego as we
traverse the Path.
Ego has a use and function like our bodies. We
shouldn't slay the ego, any more than we
should slay the body. We need an enlightened view or
relationship toward ego the same way people are now
seeing the wisdom of mind-spirit-body integration.
Likewise, just saying that ego is not real, that it
is illusion, is not really useful, when ego IS still
very real to us. If we play these mind games, (and
mind games are ego games-the only one with the
agenda to kill the ego, is the ego!) instead of
ridding ourselves of ego, we repress it, deny it,
ignore it, and thereby essentially move it into
unconscious areas, creating shadows.
If we work with the ego, love it, care for it as we
do in a healthy relationship with our physical body
then we keep it strong, flexible, loose,
un-constricted, well. We love all parts of it
into our consciousness, and doing so into wellness.
By paying attention to it, we transform it through
the light of consciousness. This wise generosity is
the way, the path, the view that delivers us from
the tyranny of ego.
This relationship to ego implies non-identification
with ego, a heart centered consciousness. This
shift is the means. It creates a loving
relationship, one that compassionately allows for
the difficulty of this very human condition of ego.
It is a radical acceptance of what is, an
unconditional love. This love is the wisdom that
transforms in its gaze and sees through the form. It
sees its perfection, sees its emptiness.

Wisdom Funding - Using Esoteric Principles to
Attract Needed Funds
by Cherie Peterson As participants in creating a world imbued with
spirit, we are invited to listen to what those who
have ‘gone before’ are presenting to us. We
understand that Love and Service are keynotes to
fully participating in the Plan for humanity. As we
align with Soul and discern areas of need, we often
continue to contemplate the possibilities, unsure of
exactly what the work to be accomplished is and how
to go about grounding the work on the physical plane.
The energy of will and power (First Ray) and the
force of idealism and devotion (Sixth Ray) are well
needed at this stage of our creative process. If we
remain glued to the possibilities, not much gets
accomplished. We must use the energy of will and
force for our ideals to move forward.
So many ideas come through and simply never
manifest. The surety we want and the exact
instructions often are missing. “But, we might ask,
what about this is really coming from a source other
than my own imagination/mind? Won’t it just
magically happen if it is truly the work of the
Masters?” These are questions that may well derail
us from acting.
Too many questions, too much uncertainty and too
much busyness in our lives distract us and lead to
dead-ended ideas. So we meditate with greater
emptiness and openness.
As apprentices, we learn and practice the laws of
White Magic.
This is the process that brought Wisdom
Funding into reality. At some point, after
continuous urgings and gentle nudges, there came a
day of reckoning, when force and will brought action
to the idea. A consultant was found, papers were
filled out, board members were tapped and an
application for non-profit status was filed.
Ideas came streaming in continuously and sobering
suggestions from co-workers helped to create a
framework for the beginning of a funding
organization to help other groups and individuals
engaged in the Wisdom Teachings.
As a co-creating board, our intention to fundraise
requires creative ideas to tap the supply of
financing that is available in the world. We plan to
ask for funding from those already involved with
Ageless Wisdom teachings as well as those who have
yet to be introduced to the concepts.
During our first year, we hope to fund teachers who
may need financial help with marketing, travel
costs, room rents and materials expenses.
We are also in the process of arranging for a key
environmental speaker to come to Boulder, Colorado,
for our first fundraising event. We plan to partner
with Global Family and other like-minded non-profits
in this endeavor. By selling seats in a program, we
hope to cover much of our initial start-up costs. If
you are interested in participating in helping to
organize this event, please contact us at our e-mail
address below.

Here’s what we are learning about bringing in
available resources:
In The Disciple and Economy, Lucille
Cedercrans write with the direction from The Master
R, that disciples are to release what has been
learned from society and move into a place of
receptive openness to all that has not yet even been
imagined in order to tap resources available for
spiritual work.
When we think about how to make money or tap the
available supply, we are very limited in the way we
think because of past programming. We convince
ourselves over and over that needed funds are not
likely to come our way. We are asked to expand our
consciousness and remove the limitations and
barriers to creating the flow of supply (money) in
our lives. We are to ‘view’ and accept the
possibilities.
The basic requirement for the building of a healthy,
creative economy is resource. Being resourceful is
simply to realize resources at hand. We are
encouraged to use creativity for finding new
patterns in our lives. This can be a mental
frequency, which then requires movement down into
astral, etheric and finally physical frequencies in
order to manifest. Desire, astral magnetic power,
never created any money. It never attracted money
and it never will.
It takes will to move money or economic energy,
force and substance.
Therefore, this focused intent around the resolution
of the economic problem both personally and
group-wise, will do more to remove the major block
than anything that has happened previously. It is
the positive polarity of the will and the negative
polarity of the intelligent activity that will
result in outer manifestation. The will must
initiate the activity, and then can be turned toward
other activities. Then through soul alignment and
the clearing out of confusion resulting from this
incarnation’s experience, thoughts and habits one
will be able to bring in wise ideas.

A Review of Michael Franti’s Documentary: A
Musician’s Journey “I Know I’m Not Alone” Through
War in the Middle East.
by Sacha Fossa Even though Franti’s work has been ignored by
mainstream media, as a gifted spoken word artist and
political activist, he is now at the forefront of
hip-hop renaissance, expanding his music’s
boundaries with funky and soul-driven beats. His
goal is to “make revolution irresistible through
music, with energy and compassion. Franti has been
described as “a thinking, feeling person joyously
out of step with his contemporaries in the music
industry.” Michael Franti’s concern for the
well-being and happiness of all of humanity knits
together the large variety of concerns he addresses
musically and otherwise. Franti has continued his
lifelong dedication to making politics personal,
with his new film I Know I’m Not Alone that has been
deemed a “musical tribute to the resilience of the
human spirit”. Setting out as a musical
communicator of social justice, and leading a small
group of artists and filmmakers on a two week peace
delegation to Baghdad, Israel and Palestine, Michael
Franti wanted to see the human costs of war first
hand. “On television I’d only hear about the
economic and political costs of the war through
generals and politicians,” said Franti. “When I got
there, I saw how difficult the war had been for
soldiers, doctors, teachers, taxi drivers--everyday
people.”
Of course death, violence, and suffering was
everywhere in Iraq. Franti, according to one
interview, did not want to make a political movie,
instead he wanted to make a film about people and
the things they do to overcome the stresses of war
and occupation, chief among these being friendship,
humor, art and music. Franti tells stories through
his songs and spoken word, and he approached the
film in the same way.
During this trip he wrote a poignant ballad called
“It’s Time to Go Home,” which he performed for
American soldiers stationed in Iraq. With words like
“Those who start wars never fight them . . . Those
who fight wars/Never like them” have earned him the
allegiance of many Iraq, Gulf, and Vietnam War
veterans who thanked him for writing this song.
Armed with a guitar, with no USO or military guides
or sponsorship, the forty-year old dreadlocked
Franti entered some of the most dangerous places on
earth to use music to open doors and dialogue.
Franti traveled to red-zoned war torn neighborhoods
in Baghdad, the West Bank and the Gaza strip.
In Iraq, his trip began with a sobering lesson of
what they could and could not film, and his group
immediately learned the soldiers have orders to
shoot on sight anybody taking pictures or filming.
“I figured we had to be cautious of what we shot and
ask permission, but I never knew it would risk our
lives,” he explained. He played for a diverse group,
from children in hospitals to the military gripping
M16s.
One of the tensest scenes in the film shows Franti
performing in the relatively safe confines of the
Sheraton’s make shift bar-a supposedly safe haven
for foreign journalists and U.S troops. Franti sings
his peace anthem “Bomb the World” to men fingering
the trigger. Sensing the tough crowd and
confrontational nature, he changes his lines to a
question, “We can bomb the world to pieces but can
we bomb the world into peace?” He additionally
either changed or left out the line “Power to the
peaceful” because he felt it was “rubbing it in too
much”. He wonders, “To say this to guys who are
carrying M-16s-do we count them among the peaceful?”
Franti admits this four-song show was the hardest
he’s ever done. His mission to arm his listeners
with mental ammunition continues.
Franti explains his shock in meeting a young boy in
an Iraqi hospital whose leg is set for amputation
the next day because antibiotics aren’t available.
“Because if I need antibiotics, I just go get some
Amoxicillin from Walgreen’s, you know what I mean?”
says Franti. After viewing Franti’s documentary, WHO
(World Health Organization) and UN (United Nations)
members in Geneva invited Franti to meetings held on
the “human costs of war.” Franti was then asked to
be part of a panel on “The Human Face of Conflict
and Health: Impact on Health Care Systems” at
the WHO headquarters.
While strumming his guitar and attempting to mediate
a discussion between Israeli guards and Palestinians
at a border crossing, Franti learns another valuable
lesson about his views. He isn’t pro-Israel,
pro-Palestinian, pro-America or pro-Iraq; he’s
pro-peace. “Before I left, I thought I was a real
compassionate person,” he says, “but in order to
practice compassion, you have to extend love to
people who you think you don’t have compassion for.
We have to find a solution, a space for everybody.”
As Franti sings his way through such brutal
occupations-he breaks through the hate and reveals
the oneness of our human family. This film is truly
an antidote to despair in relation to the many world
problems being played out in the Middle East. Franti
gives us hope, not just tears. He explains that he
found in war zones “nobody wanted to hear songs
about war, they wanted to hear songs about
connection to people and songs about love and life,
songs that make them dance”.
His most recent work with his band Spearhead is a
double release album titled after his documentary
I Know I’m Not Alone. Michael Franti claims
it will have “more funky, rocking and reggae
moments”. A second disc of acoustic numbers will
also be released, as Franti attempts to create
balance in this way throughout many of his albums.
This second disc of acoustic numbers titled Yell
Fire! and I Know I’m Not Alone will be
released July 25th.
On September 11, Franti’s annual “Power to the
Peaceful” benefit concert will be held in Golden
Gate Park in San Francisco. His music, new
documentary and news updates are available on-line

The Places We Dare Not Go
by Judy Harrison Probably fifteen years ago at a USR conference I
attended a humorous workshop on glamour busting and
the dweller dispeller given, if my memory serves me
correctly, by Rev. Sally Brown. It left me with
images of esotericists dressed like Dan Akroyd in
Ghost Buster uniforms. Raised on the cleverness of
Monty Python, associations and mental leaps were the
hall mark of the times and I participated in my
share. However, given that mental image, after all
the readings I’ve done and workshops I’ve attended
the message from this one has stood the test of time.
I’ve thought again about the Dweller and its
dispeller recently when I ventured upon a place
where I dare not go. Those internal places are so
well preserved that one is always taken aback when
they are unearthed, revealing the constrictions they
create.
I found mine the other day when reading the book,
Mary: A Flesh and Blood Biography of the Virgin
Mother by Leslie Hazelton. To give some
context, the book is written by an author who has
the unique background of being steeped in
Catholicism, Judaism, theology, anthropology and
history of the Middle East. With this as her
background, she presents a plausible historical
biography on the life of Mary. It is fascinating
reading and an important part of my research on Mary
and the Divine Feminine.
In a lengthy discussion on virginity and the
circumstances of Jesus’ birth, Hazelton writes: “In
Maryam’s (her true name) violence ridden first
century Palestine, rape was so common that it began
to put the whole system of patrilineal descent and
inheritance into doubt. When the Mishnaic rabbies
decided two centuries later to change the
patrilineal definition of Jewishness to make Jewish
descent matrilineal, they were probably making a
practical accommodation. . .Early anti-Christian
diatribes contain persistant rumors that Maryam was
raped. The most common candidate for the rapist is
a Roman soldier named Panthera. This legion (by the
same name) was sent south out of Syria into
Palestine in both 4BC and 6AD, the two years
scholars now consider the earliest and latest
possibilities for the year in which Maryam gave
birth. And where the Roman legions went they
raped. . .The mind revolts, yes. Most of us can accept
that Maryam was not a physical virgin. But raped?
Anyone else perhaps, but not her, we say to
ourselves.” P138 – 140
In the book I read how Maryam raped was no less
deserving of respect then the historical virgin and
that in fact she changed an act of deliberate
disgrace into ultimate grace. But somehow my mind
refused to take in this information and a story
which moments before I found very plausible I now
began to doubt as ‘only theory’. While I knew that
many of the Gods in mythology both raped and were
conceived through rape, those were only MYTHS – this
was different! We are talking about Jesus a Divine
son of love conceived in an act of violence and
hate. Impossible!
As my mind continued to refute the possibility of
Maryam’s rape, in that moment I met my dweller. I
understood immediately the mental construct that
formed my ‘ring pass not’. To push beyond this
limit was to challenge and ultimately change my
world view. And so I started to examine this new
information and to appreciate its wider
implications. In what ways am I pre-judging
situations and therefore forming prejudices? And in
this process, confessions by a 6th ray soul ensued.
Was Jesus conceived in rape? Actually it doesn’t
really matter. If so it gives a stronger voice to
his service of redemption. Currently I am still
continuing to unearth the limitations of my
assumptions and to expand the ring pass not of my
mental constructs. I also have a new appreciation
for the stir that the Dan Brown, The Da Vinci
Code, book created.
So for those who are working to follow a conscious
path, the next time you come across a place that you
dare not go or find something that really pushes
your buttons, look closely and see what you can
uncover. This is a signal that you may need to
engage a dweller dispeller.

“Our theme is the esoteric consideration of
disease and its forms; - and to indicate the general
laws with which the healer must work and the six
rules - to which he gives obedience, through
discipline and understanding.” - Esoteric
Healing, AAB, pg. 24
In preparation for the creation of a comprehensive
Esoteric Healing program, a number of us are
re-reading the text Esoteric Healing by Alice
Bailey. Below is Donna’s commentary on certain
pages. The Esoteric Healing program is scheduled to
begin in the autumn of 2007. For more information
please contact us at retreats@SpiritFire.com
Thoughts generated by pgs. 1-8 of EH
by Donna Mitchell-Moniak The Tibetan states a few things fairly emphatically in his introductory remarks:
Point 1
Early on in the discussions of this project and in our related meditations, we have understood the pillar of self-awareness as a necessary subject matter within the class. This never was intended to be a healing course of merely techniques and methods related to fields, chakras, or anatomy. This course has as the primary pillar and support the fundamental teachings of self-awareness. Thus not only might the practitioner have more clarity with their clients, but might, and we hope, pass on those teachings and practices of self-awareness to his or her clients. We know, and the Tibetan states by emphasizing
within the first few pages of this treatise, that
all disease is a by-product of the hindrance of soul
power and presence in a person; and that healing is
determined by finding or creating mechanisms for
ease and flow of soul.
Can this be done by practicing triangulation of
chakras or other subjective methods? Yes, in part,
and I might add, superficially and not long lasting
(meaning changing energetic patterns within the
incarnational processes of the soul). All true and
lasting change is effected as a person realizes more
of his/her essential nature, by it’s various names
and associated qualities registered. Therefore, even
in considering this healing course in relation to
electricity, light, and the subtle nature of
substance itself, none of this is as important to
the would-be student and their true wholeness as the
teaching and training in the discovery and
empowerment of one’s spiritual nature.
Point 2
I believe that when the Tibetan tells us something is written in the language of or understood more fully by ‘initiates,’ it is for a simple reason: so that we realize that whatever meaning or understanding we have, it is only one level. There in fact are many levels of cognition. Our intuitive nature is required to understand more essential meanings; and those who understand the deeper meanings of words/concepts such as energy, will, purpose, consciousness, etc will be able to work most efficiently with these laws. Everyone reading this text will understand the
various meanings according to their level and
expanse of consciousness. And everyone will put the
text through their experiential system and thus
filter in or out various possible meanings
accordingly. Therefore, a group mind is essential
for this project.
Point 3
“to release the energy of the atom is of the same general nature as the work of the esotericist when he endeavors to release the energy of the soul. In this release the nature of the true art of healing is hidden. Herein lies an occult hint.” We must remember that the release of the energy of
the atom destroys the atom. The form no longer
exists. There is no more atom. The laws of healing
are far ahead of their time, in the respect that the
true use of the laws of healing would mean that all
human beings could be resurrected from the grave of
existence as we know it. Humanity is not ready for,
nor do they want that. Therefore, the typical
understanding and activities using the laws of
healing actually do not use much of the law. Why?
Because the actual effect is not what is wanted.
As it has been said as a result of our meditations,
this healing program is basically a program in
spiritual emergence, in understanding that our
spiritual emergence (engaged or not, understood or
not, moderated or fully supported) is the source of
our dis-ease. Every time the atom releases some of
its energy, some of the atom’s form is destroyed,
never to be the same. The sun will always tan or
burn the skin; it never will not. As we assist
students in understanding this as a fundamental
premise, not just of this course, but of life
itself, then we have done much (more than one might
think.)
The hint the Tibetan gives us is also a sounding of
the fiat of impermanence, a not so subtle reminder
that consciousness, the soul, abhors enforced
concretization. Consciousness ever seeks flow and
fluidity, ever seeks expansive expression because
that is its nature. Understanding the true art of
healing and being able to teach it is to teach
impermanence.
This hint also reminds us that to release energy is
to experience light in some form of release. Light
is consciousness. Therefore, every release of energy
– stored up in trauma, obstructed by thoughtforms
and personal patterns, or absconded qualities of the
soul altered into glamours of the personality – the
release of any of these releases the light of the
soul. This is a psychological situation that often
has just as much fall out (note the radioactive
term) as living with the disease. It is imperative
that this course not only teach this understanding
but do all that it can to train the would-be healers
in the psychological arts. As light is released,
shadow and blindness can happen just as illumination
and clarity can. The practitioner must be prepared
for both; the client as well.
To release energy is always to change a state. To
change state is always to change the form. One
equals the other. True healing is just this: a
change of the state of current beingness into a
freer flow of being. When an atom is split, its
constituents have no bounds; they can pass through
anything. Their wave-ness is reified; the life
essence is resurrected from the tomb of particle
(atom). Again, the Tibetan calls this the true ‘art’
of healing. Art renders. Art does not interpret but
leaves that to others. Art is perceptive, intuitive
and dimensional. Art never is about part, but always
a vision of whole. People suffer because they are
removed from wholeness. This healing project intends
to offer pointers on the way.
Point 4
“I am not interested primarily in training individuals in order to make them more efficient healers. It is group healing at which I aim, and it is the work which is done in formation which interests me at this time.” We are to understand by the above that group does
not necessarily or only mean more than one person
holding an energetic triangle in meditative focus or
other similar practices. This would still be
training individuals, albeit more than one at the
same time.
One of the most pervasive errors and
misunderstandings of the teaching of esoteric
healing is the lack of understanding that most of
the work done by those who practice triangles is at
best somewhat astral in nature. The efficacy of this
in the client is such because as the Tibetan states
“90% of the causes of physical disease” is sourced
from the astral nature and its interface with the
etheric. The general astral nature of most triangle
work can be clearly witnessed by the higher
clairvoyant or through direct cognition in both the
healer and the client.
Additionally, certain thoughts that are present
within some schools of teaching about the more
subjective aspects of the human constitution are,
unfortunately, erroneous. Are they erroneous because
I say so? No. Rigorous analysis and a truly open
mind would prove them wrong.
Our intention with this healing project is, in fact,
to give the student practitioners much that can
actually be worked with. This certainly can and
should include utilization of the triangulation
information throughout EH. But none of these
too-easily astralized and glamourized techniques
should outweigh psycho-spiritual training. Law 1
reminds us of that.
