MIND MEDITATION - Day 1
WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND? Judgement and criticism have been described as great human heresies. Why? Because they are divisive at their core. They inevitably lead to separateness. Negative thoughts lead to negative emotions which have a negative impact on our physiology, relationships, outlook, and our lives in general.
Ponder the last time someone cut you off while driving. What was your response? Was it along the lines of "Hey shit-head, you don't own the road! Watch where the hell you're going!" Or did you speed up to inches from their bumper to show them who's boss? Were you locked onto the thought-form that 'people are jerks' for the rest of your time in the car? Or, perhaps your response was, "Be careful, my friend. May you arrive at your destination without incident." Small things are big things. What is lurking beneath the surface of your mind? Meditation often reveals the answer... and rather quickly at that. Sometimes it's not pretty. Choosing to befriend the mind means getting to know it without judgement. Meditation creates gentle space for that. Energy follows thought. This is a fact. What is the nature of your thoughts? Where is your energy going? Let's have a look... |
