GROUND OF BEING MEDITATION - Day 3
Many accounts from astronauts describing their experience of seeing the Earth from a distance, floating in infinite space, they recall a keen sense of awe, wonder, and blissful curiosity. Many say that they realized the Earth to be a living organism of which they are a part. This clearly reveals the truth of our term “Mother Earth.”
I would compare, with humility, that meditation offers us a similar experience of ourselves as we become the observer: observing this living vessel which we inhabit and which holds and supports us. Observing the living complexity of ourselves as body, mind, and spirit can certainly generate a sense of wonder and curiosity; and perhaps, even awe.
Ah, to move through the world with curiosity and awe. Now that’s living.
