TIP OF THE NOSE MEDITATION - Day 2


STEADY AS WE GO

 “Bring your attention back to the breath.” This is a suggestion that’s often offered during a guided meditation. Chances are when you’ve heard these words, your mind was off in a story; and chances are the same was true for most anyone who also heard those words during a sitting.  The mind tends to meander - it is a fact.

 The tip of the nose serves as a perch - a place to rest your attention when you bring it “back to the breath.” From there, the comings and goings of the breath are welcomed into the field of awareness. It sounds simple, yes, but staying steady on your perch takes some practice. Curiosity definitely helps. Giving the mind both a place to land and something to do, generates steadiness & concentration.

 Take a breath and have a look around.
